Meet Olena Fedorchenko, our published people strategist
Our Brainiac team is growing and you know what that means — it’s time to introduce you to another new recruit to our working family. Olena Fedorchenko has joined us as a Human Resources Partner and is responsible for shaping and creating effective people strategies and activities at WeAreBrain.
Our recruitments process tries to bring in a diverse blend of background, experience and perspective into our professional mix. Our team members often wear many hats and it’s a person’s unique background and soft skills that we really look for during the hiring process.
In this regard, Olena is perfectly suited to our Brainiac family. She has the remarkable distinction of achieving her PhD in Anthropology, so it’s Dr Fedorchenko to the rest of us! If you aren’t familiar with Anthropology, it is the academic study of the development of people, societies and cultures, which makes her the obvious choice for helping us with our people management and strategies. Her PhD lead her to publish her work, so add ‘published author’ to her title, too.
Since becoming a Doctor in Anthropology, Olena has worked for over 8 years as an HR specialist, helping organisations with their people management solutions. Olena has settled into the WeAreBrain mix nicely. “I like the ‘heart’ of WeAreBrain: the vision, mission and values that connect really great people who share the same values. This is real synergy,” she says.
Olena sees her role as an integral element to our business, and for good reason. “It is my driving force to make everyone in the team feel comfortable and happy in the company. Why? Because an efficient way to drive growth in business hinges on a happy and content team — their output will simply be better.”
Olena sees her innate empathy as a superpower that helps her connect easily with people in a way that makes them feel comfortable to open up. This is where she is able to be a highly effective people manager and strategist.
Olena is a member of the CIPD community which gives her access to the knowledge hub in the form of podcasts and articles. In Europe, CIPD is a recognised organisation for HR experts whose members are leading the field of HR in business. In fact, Olena is currently studying specialist HR through the CIPD.
If given the chance to travel back in time, she would like to visit Stone Age period and see how the ancient hunters lived, and how the caves at Altamira were painted. Then, she would like to visit Ancient Greece to “get to know Aristotle personally”.
