Meet Serhii — fully stacked in ideas and skills
If you’re new to our blog or don’t know very much about us, then the best way to get a good idea of what we’re all about can be summed up into one word: growth. For us, this is our North Star, our guiding beacon to progress and innovation. Whether we’re growing in knowledge, ideas, technology or team members, the idea is that we remain committed to being better than we were yesterday. So, in keeping with this philosophy, we would like to introduce you to one of the newest additions to our quickly growing team of Brainiacs, Serhii.
Serhii has recently joined our team of creative savants as a new full-stack developer. He focusses his skillset on creating new features for our products which will benefit our wide array of clients and end-users. Because as a business we are always improving, adapting and investigating new ways of making our products better, we constantly bring in new people with specific skills to work on existing products to lend a new set of eyes to take our ideas further. This is where Serhii comes into the mix, as do all our new recruits.
Serhii previously worked for Nordea Bank in Poland, helping their IT arm of the business take great strides into the digital era. There he worked alongside people from all over the world which helped him to develop not only his full-stack developing abilities but also his soft skills. “I like the flexibility and freedom in technology usage that my job allows. For instance, if I want to challenge myself to work with some new tech, and I am able to prove to my team that our company needs it, then I am free to do so. I love this about my work”. Serhii is a naturally gifted full stack developer and it was only a matter of time before he found himself looking to expand his knowledge base and pursue more complex challenges in the digital landscape. And that’s how he became a Brainiac. “I really enjoy the atmosphere at WeAreBrain. It feels like you don’t go to ‘work’ but rather you go to spend a fun time working on great projects with really talented and creative people”.
Like all of us at WeAreBrain, Serhii is (by his own admission) a special kind of geek. And you need to be if you are a full stack developer (or any kind of dev for that matter). It just comes with the territory. As an example of Serhii’s geekiness, he likes to scour the internet and AliExpress to search for different geeky things he can find uses for. “I love searching for these things to add to one of my collections, or to decorate my apartment. The geekier the better” he jokes.
Like all good full-stack developers, Serhii likes to read a lot about his field of expertise in order to keep abreast of the latest tech trends. He enjoys reading articles on Habr, Medium and ProgLib. “Thanks to these great sites I keep up to date with the latest innovations in my field to remain on the same page. I think it is quite important nowadays to be in the know so you can incorporate the latest ideas into your own work”.
