Regarding the importance of the collective, Aristotle famously wrote ‘The whole is greater than the sum of its parts’. At WeAreBrain, we firmly embrace this concept because, after all, it is our people who make us what we are.
One of these amazing people is André Pedroso, our uber-talented Technical Lead and all-around tech rockstar. André leads our UGG project and also performs software architecture – skills he has picked up during his 15 years of experience in software development.
After graduating with an Information and Technology Systems degree, he progressed to achieve a Postgraduate degree in Engineering and Management of Information Systems. These expertise lead him to gain vast experience working in different fields and industries, such as e-commerce, healthcare, IoT, Real Estate, and others.
André’s ability to work in various tech sectors made him an obvious and welcome addition to the Brainiac crew:
“What I love about my job is that I am constantly learning and sharing knowledge to solve challenges as a team. At WeAreBrain, we are given the freedom to find new solutions as an autonomous team working toward the greater goal of the business.”
But leading our technical team is not the only thing André is passionate about. When he isn’t architecting software or finding smart solutions to complex problems, you can find him on stage rocking out on his electric guitar. André is a very talented musician and plays in a few bands (because he is too good for only one:)). One of them is a Stone Temple Pilots cover band. He also played the double bass in his university music group.
When he was younger, André was a very good swimmer. I know what you are thinking: technical lead, software architect, musician, AND athlete – is there anything this guy can’t do!? If we find out, we’ll let you know. Until then, consider André a Jack of all trades.
André is a proud father and husband, and also a coffee addict (aren’t all engineers?). He drinks about 5 cups of coffee a day and certainly keeps the office coffee machine on its toes.
During coffee breaks, you can find him chatting to his fellow Brainiacs about his favourite film of all time – The Matrix. He loves to explain the details and philosophy of the film to anyone who will listen. “It is one of the best movies ever on many levels: argument, visual effects, and social criticism just to name a few.”
We are so happy to have this spoon-bending, athletic rockstar and engineering expert in our colourful posse of IT Brainiacs. Rock on, André!
