Meet Sergey, an Android developer with vision

Sergey, an Android Developer, has high hopes of becoming the android team lead as the mobile department expands at WeAreBrain. He is a builder and creator by nature and he loves to follow an app development project through from mere sketches to publication. ‘It’s like magic!”

Sergey is also a car fanatic and a self-professed motorhead spending hours improving and customising his own car. In his spare time when he is not researching and reading up on the latest motor trends he is doing more reading on what is happening in the tech and app space.

When asked what event in history he’d like to witness he explains that he has always been curious about the Chernobyl nuclear disaster and if there was any way to go back in time and watch it all play out without being hurt he would really like to see how it all went down. “It’s just such a crazy thing to think that it was just over 30 years ago, I’m just so fascinated by how it happened.”

Sergey is a very focused individual and his ambition to be the best in his field is evident in his answer to what ability he would like to have that he doesn’t have yet. “During the last Google IO, Kotlin (a new programming language) became the official language for android. So I think, it is time to learn a new language, because I believe it’s the future of android development.”

At the top of Sergey’s bucket list along with learning a new programming language is learning English. As an active participant in WeAreBrain’s “Learn English” initiative he is well on his way to crossing this item off his list.

And the legacy he’d like to leave? “I know as the world of technology and apps continues to develop there are many apps that are made, some people remember and some never see the light of day. I want to create apps so great, that when people talk about them they’ll say — you know Sergey Trufanov is one of the authors?’;-)

With this kind of ambition and drive we have no doubt that this dream will come to fruition. If you’d like to read more about what Sergey has been up to lately you can read his the first two articles on his series on MVP for Android, Part one is and Introduction to MVP and its many benefits and part two delves a little deeper and gives a full review on Moxy, the library used in MVP. Part three and four are due in the next few weeks so make sure you don’t miss them follow the WeAreBrain publication.
